New Polestar 2 BST edition 230 starts from £73,900

The all-electric Polestar 2 gets another rare, performance focused variant called the BST edition 230

If you missed out on the ultra-rare Polestar 2 BST edition 270, fear not because the Swedish firm has just revealed another limited version of the EV, called the BST edition 230.

The BST edition 230 name alludes to how many units will be made, making it rarer than the 270. 25 examples will come to the UK so there’s even less chance of getting your hands on one than the 40 units of the edition 270 that came over here.

The powertrain is the same as before. A 78kWh battery from the Polestar 2 Long Range dual-motor, combined with the Performance Pack means there’s 469bhp and 680Nm of torque. 0-62mph is dealt with in 4.4 seconds and it’ll go on to a top speed of 127mph.

Range takes a big hit compared to the 367-mile Long range model, down to 287 miles in the BST edition 230.

Polestar’s chassis improvements are carried over from the 270. This includes the 25mm lower ride height, Ohlin's 2-way adjustable dampers, front strut bar, 20 per cent stiffer springs and 21-inch alloys wheels inspired by the Polestar 1. The Pirelli P Zero tyres have even been specifically developed for the two BST edition versions.

What is new on the 230 is the exclusive green paint and the recycled suede upholstery in the cabin. There’s also an option to paint the exterior body colour black and the full-length central stripe can be specified in black or green.

The BST edition 230 is available to order now from £73,900, making it £15,950 more expensive than the Long range Dual-motor with the Performance Pack. First deliveries can be expected by September.
