UK prices revealed for new 2020 Toyota Corolla Trek

Prices announced for new Toyota Corolla Trek, an off-road-inspired version of the Corolla Touring Sports estate

The new Toyota Corolla Trek – a crossover-like version of the Corolla Touring Sports estate, built in partnership with American bicycle manufacturer, Trek – will cost from £29,225, it has been announced.

As is the case with the standard Corolla, the entry-level Trek comes with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol-electric hybrid powertrain. It produces 120bhp and emits 113g/km of CO2, resulting in Benefit-in-Kind company car tax of 25%.

A 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid is also available: this is priced from £30,950, with the larger engine producing 178bhp. Meanwhile emissions creep up to 121g/km, translating into BiK of 27%.

Both engines send power to the front axle via a CVT gearbox, and both should offer fuel economy figures of around 50mpg.

Revisions over the standard Toyota Corolla Touring Sports estate include a unique set of 17-inch alloy wheels, rugged black plastic exterior cladding, a honeycomb radiator grille, rear privacy glass, new front fog lamps and LED headlights. The Corolla Trek’s suspension has also been raised by 20mm, while protective skid plates are fitted front and rear. Despite the jacked-up suspension, both versions are front-wheel drive.

Inside, the Corolla Trek has new two-tone cloth upholstery, a redesigned dashboard with decorative wooden inlays and Trek badges for its door-steps and bootlid. Buyers also get a seven-inch digital instrument binnacle, an eight-inch infotainment system, adaptive cruise control, a day-time cyclist detection system, and a powered automatic tailgate.

Toyota has supplied 16 examples to the Trek-Segafredo World Tour cycling teams as support vehicles, although racing is currently suspended across Europe.
