Practicality was clearly key for Clarion, as this deck looks very plain. It’s the only budget unit to get a remote control, and we liked the positioning of the up/down lever next to the rotary volume switch. But the small pause/enter button is awkwardly placed. Four line-outs and an aux-in socket add versatility, and there are three preset EQ tone modes. Yet the display is dull, and this uninspiring unit isn’t cheap.
