Audi has added a couple more doors to its popular A3 in an effort to increase appeal and boost practicality – but is the A3 Sportback worth the extra cash?

At £620 more than the three-door, the Sportback adds a slightly larger boot and a lengthened wheelbase. The latter means more space in the rear, while the ride feels more comfortable without compromising the car’s handling.

It’s available with the same engine and trim combinations as you’ll find on the three-door, with the addition of standard-fit roof rails and a subtle rear spoiler.
