Cars are getting bigger, but that shouldn’t mean parking

has to be a pain. While power-steering and parking sensors have taken the strain out of manoeuvring, manufacturers are aiming to eliminate all blind spots with reversing cameras.

This hi-tech kit is questionable on smaller cars – although VW offers a camera as a no-cost option on its Golf Match – and basic sensors are usually sufficient on larger models. However, the latest systems go further. Add Range Rover’s £1,085 Vision Assist Pack, and you’ll get a five-camera surround view system, including one that keeps an eye on a trailer if you’re towing.
