New DS 3 Performance Line 2017 review - pictures

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - front tracking

This is the new DS 3 Performance Line, the latest in a growing list of DS trim levels to emerge since the company separated from Citroen in 2015.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - front cornering

Performance Line trim comes with sat-nav and smartphone connectivity for both Apple and Android devices, and is designed to sit between the standard DS 3 and the top end, 205bhp Performance model.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - side tracking

Available with DS’s usual choice of 3cyl turbo petrol and diesel engines, the Performance Line will get you anywhere between 118bhp and 128bhp.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - rear cornering

Prices for the 1.2-litre turbo petrol start at £18,735. It produces 230Nm of torque and a 0-62mph time of 8.9 seconds.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - front quarter

The 1.5-litre diesel will set you back £19,345 and do 0-62mph in 9.3 seconds.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - rear quarter

All Performance Lines will be equipped with a six-speed gearbox, a manual on all models save for the PureTech 110, which is an automatic with a manual mode.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - headlight

While this latest trim might not pack the same punch as its 205bhp sibling, owners will at least find more value at the filling station with a more economical 83.1mpg figure from the diesel engine.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - door mirror

There are no styling changes whatsoever compared to the normal DS 3, and the Performance Line doesn’t benefit from the lowered suspension, larger wheels and thicker side skirts fitted on the higher spec Performance trim.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - wheel

There are, however, alterations to the interior, with a new seven-strong selection of colour hues to go with the black roof, alloys and mirrors.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - badge

The seats are finished in a new leather and suede-effect ‘Dynamica’ cloth, held together with red and white stitching which also finds its way onto the steering wheel, the gear lever and the doors.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - rear light

Sat comfortably between the Elegance and Prestige trims, the Performance Line is fitted with cruise control, climate control and electric mirrors in addition to its connectivity features.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - interior

Another significant addition inside is the new badging on the seats, and the Performance Line sees special metallic trim features too.

  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - infotainment
  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - instruments
  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - rear seats
  • DS 3 Performance Line 2017 - boot
