New MINI Convertible Seaside Edition celebrates 30 years of drop-top MINIs

MINI has an eye on summer already with its new special Convertible Seaside Edition

We might be in the middle of winter but that’s not stopped MINI from releasing the very summery Convertible Seaside Edition. The new drop-top marks the 30th anniversary of the Rover Mini Cabriolet from 1992.

Available to order now, MINI says first deliveries can be expected from March 2023. Pricing for the Seaside Edition starts from £34,500 and is based on the Cooper S model. For your money you get more than just roofless motoring, however.

On the outside there’s 18-inch alloys taken from the Resolute model with bespoke centre caps. The paint finish is Caribbean Aqua - the only option for the Seaside Edition. There’s also stripes on the side, decals on the front plus a ‘Seaside’ logo on the bootlid.

Inside the Seaside Edition, there’s a new logo on the button of the steering wheel, ‘30 years of convertible’ inscribed on the dash and ‘Seaside’ emblems on the scuff plates. The infotainment features a 8.8-inch touchscreen and the Seaside Edition adds as standard MINI’s Premium Plus pack - which includes automatic air conditioning, reverse parking control, various driving modes, wireless smartphone charging and an upgraded sound system.

As the Seaside Edition is based on the Cooper S hot hatch, it’s powered by a 178bhp turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine which results in a 0-62mph time of 7.2 seconds. It also brings a bonnet air vent, a twin-pipe exhaust and a sportier bodykit.
