New flagship Amarok pick-up truck is on sale now, limited to 200 units

Volkswagen Amarok Dark Label

A new special edition Volkswagen Amarok pick-up truck is heading to the UK, with 200 examples singled out for British showrooms.

Called the Amarok Dark Label, it’s based on the range-topping Highline version of Volkswagen’s Mercedes X-Class rival, boasting a handful of choice design and trim tweaks.

Exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels feature, alongside matt black door mirror housings, black door mirrors and a black rear bumper. The side steps and the styling bar in the pick-up bed are also matt black, and it also gains unique Dark Label decals. The standard paint finish for the new limited edition Amarok is exclusive Carbon Steel grey, but a matt grey and a deep pearlescent black finish are also available.

Inside, the seat covers are trimmed in Alcantara, while the dark theme continues with black headlining and Dark Label motif floormats. Tech and equipment is lifted straight from the Amarok Highline, with a 6.33-inch touchscreen infotainment system the highlight. Other standard kit includes automatic windscreen wipers and headlights, plus electrically adjustable and heated folding door mirrors.

Under the bonnet sits a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 201bhp and 500Nm of torque, and power is sent to the Amarok’s all-wheel-drive system via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Order books are open now, with the Amarok Dark Label priced from £33,650 before VAT.
