Bridgestone Blizzak 6 Enliten review

The Bridgestone put on a very similar performance to the Michelin, so they share fourth place

The Bridgestone offered similar strengths to the Michelin, delivering impressively in the snow and wet, and scoring a solitary outright win. It was strong in the important snow-braking test, coming in a close second to the

Hankook, and it wasn’t far off on traction, either. Yet it was seventh around the snow lap, about 1.5 seconds off the best. Its relative lack of pace was partly down to softer turn-in, meaning it didn’t hook into the turns decisively.

Sixth and solidly mid-field for straight-line wet braking was matched around the wet-handling circuit, where it felt generally good but, as in the snow, a less than positive turn-in held it back. Still, good results in wet cornering and both aquaplaning tests contributed to a strong overall wet performance.

The surprise was last in dry braking, where it took 2.4m longer to stop than the pace-setting Falken, contrasting with equal first for dry handling. Mind you, the whole field was covered by 1.3 seconds and the Bridgestone felt great: stable and controlled on the first lap, then agile and adjustable with a bit more commitment. Second-best rolling resistance completes an impressive performance.

“A great performance, delivering strongly in all the important areas and adding fine economy, too.”
