Thanks to contractual issues, legendary sports car maker Porsche has never appeared in the Gran Turismo series. However, German firm Ruf takes Porsches and rebuilds them as new cars, so Porsches are included in a roundabout way.

The most famous Ruf is the CTR Yellow Bird, a 1987 911 Carrera packed with a 469bhp turbo flat-six. The car was the star of the Faszination video, which saw the CTR being driven flat-out around the Nurburgring Nordschliefe. And with the addition of the famous track to Gran Turismo 4, gamers could recreate the video for themselves.
