New range-topping Kia Ceed and ProCeed GT-Line S models launched

Due to popular demand, Kia has re-introduced the GT-Line S trim level for its Ceed and ProCeed, which offers a smattering of extra kit and a dual-clutch gearbox as standard

As one of Kia’s best-selling cars, the Ceed hatchback has been a key player in the Korean firm’s impressive momentum of late. To broaden its appeal in 2023, Kia has introduced a GT-Line S trim level which sits at the top of the Ceed range and offers extra equipment over the current GT-Line model.

The new spec is available across the standard five-door hatchback and the ProCeed shooting brake estate, priced from £31,145 and £32,245 respectively. Unlike other trims, the GT-Line S is equipped with Kia’s seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox as standard, which is paired with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine developing 158bhp.

The rugged Kia XCeed variant is also available in GT-Line S, which offers the seven-speed automatic gearbox as an option for the first time.

The standard hatchback completes the 0-62mph sprint in 8.4 seconds, with the ProCeed lagging 0.2 seconds behind due to its extra weight. Both models arrive with the same extensive kit list, though, which includes extra safety tech and a sprinkling of luxuries inside.

In addition to the GT-Line’s standard features, GT-Line S models receive black leather and suede upholstery with a memory function for the electrically adjustable driver’s seat, along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. This combines with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen mounted to the dash, which offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

An eight-speaker JBL audio system is included too, as well as a wireless smartphone charger to top up devices on the move. In the GT-Line S, the driver can flick through the DCT gearbox using steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, with a choice of Normal and Sport driving modes to alter the car’s behaviour. Rear passengers are treated to heated seats.

Kia’s Smart Key also makes an appearance to offer keyless-go, in addition to a smart park assist system; this takes control of the steering to manoeuvre into spaces and includes front and rear parking sensors. Stop and go cruise control features as standard on GT-Line S models, alongside a blind spot collision warning system. A set of larger 18-inch alloys has been fitted to distinguish the top-spec trim, too.
