Winner: Kia SorentoIncorporated subcategories: Boot/luggage area capacity, interior storage places, flexibility/versatility of seating areas, child-friendly features

Kia’s big Sorento SUV takes the honours in this category. The 660-litre boot steals the win for satisfaction with rear space, while clever interior touches mean it also takes top honours for interior storage. The Kia is voted best for seat flexibility as well, thanks to its neat seven-seat layout.

Elsewhere, Toyota Verso owners praise their cars’ child-friendly features. Meanwhile, the Honda Civic scores an impressive eighth place, proving that compact family cars can be more practical than popular SUVs. Drivers are also impressed with the Civic’s child-friendly features.

Kia Sorento review

The Mazda 6 shows that owners still find their big saloons and estates practical choices, thanks to good scores for storage compartments and boot space. And hybrid powertrains don’t have to limit versatility, as proven by Lexus’s NX and RX SUVs.
