"These are fascinating times to be reporting on the car industry and car culture as a whole, as the car industry and society in general begins to pivot towards EV technology – too fast for some, and not soon enough for others. Whatever your view on the pace of change, Auto Express takes pride in being at the forefront of the breaking news agenda, and it’s a privilege to be part of a team that includes so many highly experienced and influential colleagues whose collective expertise brings such depth and insight to the automotive news agenda."

Chris’ main areas of expertise

  • Sustainability and future mobility

  • Government roads and transport policy

  • The Driver Power consumer satisfaction index.

Chris Rosamond Q&A…

Q: What was your first car?

A: Either a 1963 Vauxhall Cresta PB or a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda fastback, both acquired around the time I passed my driving test. £60 and £75 respectively, and both runners!

Q: What is your dream car?

A: Today I’d like a 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille convertible, please, or a 1930s Alfa 8C Le Mans.

Q: If you could change one thing about cars, driving or the car industry today what would it be?

A: I’d wind the clock back to the summer of 1973, just before the first oil crisis hit. Empty roads, cheap gas and fabulous cars.
