New Renault E-Tech engineered trim level comes to Clio, Captur and Arkana

The Renault Arkana’s trim structure has been revised with the coupe-SUV now starting from £26,695

Renault has overhauled the Arkana model range and introduced a new variant of Captur and Clio for 2022. The E-Tech engineered version gets new on-board equipment and exterior tweaks. 

Replacing the entry-level Arkana ‘Iconic’ is ‘Evolution’, starting from £26,695. On the outside it features 17-inch ‘Bahamas’ alloy wheels, LED headlights, grey skid plates and tinted windows. There’s a seven-inch driver display and seven-inch touchscreen inside plus automatic wipers and automatic air conditioning. Safety systems such as Active Emergency Braking, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and lane keep assist are all standard. 

Moving up the range, mid-level ‘’S Edition’ is now ‘Techno’, from £28,695. As standard it features a wireless smartphone charger, a 10-inch driver display and a 9.3-inch touchscreen with sat-nav. To distinguish it on the outside, there’s 18-inch diamond-cut wheels and darker tinted windows.

The R.S. Line is retained from the original lineup and now comes in at £31,095. There’s a unique design of 18-inch alloy wheels, a new front bumper and grille, chrome exhaust tips and R.S. Line badges. The interior receives new leather seats with suede upholstery and red stitching, a carbon-style dash, aluminium pedals, heated leather steering wheel and hands-free parking. 

The new E-Tech engineered is the range-topping model, at £32,695. It gets its own 18-inch alloy wheels with gold accents, an E-Tech engineered front bumper - again with gold detailing and new skid plates front and rear. The interior receives some bespoke tweaks as well with a new design of steering wheel along with leather seats trimmed in black and gold.

E-Tech engineered has also come to the Clio supermini and Captur crossover. There are new diamond-cut alloy wheels (18-inch on the Captur and 17-inch on the Clio), black Renault logos front and rear, gold detailing on the bumpers, rear spoiler and side trim as well as E-Tech engineering-specific seats. The Clio E-Tech engineered starts from £23,795 and the Captur comes in at £28,395. 

The Evolution and Techno are available with either the 138bhp mild-hybrid 1.3-litre petrol and the 140bhp hybrid 1.6-litre petrol with an electric motor. The R.S. Line can only be had with the smaller 1.3-litre unit, where the E-Tech engineered comes with the 1.6-litre powertrain.
