Used Skoda Citigo (Mk1, 2012-2019) review - What do owners think?

The Skoda Citigo has been a regular near the top of our Driver Power customer satisfaction survey

The Citigo last appeared in our Driver Power new car survey in 2016, when it came an impressive 11th; it scored poorly for in-car technology (ranking 117th) and performance (92nd). Mid-table scores for comfort and practicality were more encouraging, while top-10 places for reliability, running costs, handling, ride quality and ease of driving all helped to secure that 11th position.

It’s worth remembering that the Citigo is essentially an up! in a Skoda suit, so the use of VW parts should provide some reassurance and a reason to consider it over rival city cars.

Reliability

The Citigo first went on sale in 2012 and shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen up! and SEAT Mii. All three models have so far proved reliable, with few common problems to report.

Skoda consistently scores well in the manufacturer rankings, too, finishing well within  the top 10 on a regular basis. Dealers are polite and reasonably priced, while problems are few and far between.

Our 2021 Driver Power best manufacturers survey resulted in a 12th place finish for Skoda. A score of 86.68 per cent placed the budget brand higher than Mercedes (13th), Volkswagen (17th) and BMW (21st). You should experience very few problems when visiting a Skoda dealer.
