S-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Honda crv are a basic car with luxary prices. I have replace 3 window regulators over the period I owned it and 1 is on the way out again.
The is a banging from undernealth the car that nobody has been able to find, I have replace springs and shccks. The right front spring broke. I have reubilt the transmission I have replaced the radiator. It has 144,000 on it. I have owned Ford Mondeos, and Volvos doing the same mileage also bought used. When I bought them used I fixed them and they held up with no further problems. I service my car change oil and filter every 3000 miles. I bought the Honda since it was high instead of a low entrying Mondeo. The seats in the Honda are terrible. They are hard like a rock. There is no dimmer for the dash lights like there is on the American version. I have had workers using Honda Accord estates which also was uncomfortable and expensive. Rear window glass is over £500. I bought a used tailgate for £75 with glass. Honda ought to lower their prices £235 for a window regulator and motor. In the UNited States after market cost
$65.

Three things have gone wrong during 4 years of ownership.1) mass air sensor failure at 4 years of age,2) electric mirror gearing failed at 5 years of age,3) satellite navigation disc reader failed at six years.all items replaced under excellent honda extended warranty scheme taken out over five years after 3 year manufacturers warranty expired just after private purchase in october 2008. Only let down on running costs has been the fuel consumption about town - 25mpg. this was worse in earlier years 23mpg. motorway driving does however return 35mpg - not bad for a large automatic petrol car of this vintage. main dealer servicing costs and service provision are excellent but parts can be moderately pricey.

05-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

The CR-V is one of the most practical of cars that I have owned. the only downside is the petrol consumption at around 30 to a gallon - this isn't good for a relatively small engine.

Would strogly recommend Honda to anyone thinking of buying a car - particularly with respect to the assistance given by Honda when the electronics went wrong. Even though the car was out of its 3 year warranty, they replaced the very expensive electronic unit (£1450 +) free of charge - just had to pay the labour!

59-reg Diesel, Owner for Less than a year

It is as I expected; it will become my wife's principal car in due course. Reassuringly agile in snow & ice. DVD based SatNav is really excellent. Reversing camera is useful but the lens gets dirty v.quickly. Not yet as fuel economic as I had hoped and I would have liked it to have had day-running light facility (especially LED) as it is a safety advantage on the one track, high hedged lanes I use daily.

2007-reg Petrol, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Used in all sorts of weathers over the time owned all aspects of starting, handling and reliability have been excellent. Disappointing petrol consumption but this is a heavy vehicle and the driving is largely on country roads where cruising is not possible. servicing is not cheapbut replacement parts have all been makers parts.

2011-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

It is excellent. I have a prepaid 5 year service plan so the first five years cost I know.I had 3 years free servicing and I extended the service plan for a further 2 years from honda for ł600 .the ł600 also included other items like 2 further years of honda assistance etc.i have a prepaid 5 year service plan.

07-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Excellant for an SUV has lived up to my expectations, great room, big boot, handling is very good for an SUV. Only criticism would be hard ride but that is down to 19" wheels fitted as an option but they look fantastic, great fuel economy 38-40 MPG. Has served my family well.

Cost: 5/5
57-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

A really great car, for a 'soft roader' (I’m sure the purists would say it's not a proper 4*4) it has got me places in the recent bad weather I would not have expected. The rest of the year it's returning good MPG and living up to the Honda reliability I brought if for.

Cost: 5/5
2005-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Bulletproof...never missed a beat during the time we have owned it. Mpg much lower than advertised but that is the price you pay for a heavy, unaerodynamic car I suppose. had to replace the clutch (wear and tear) and was expensive (ł800) due it being a dual mass unit.

09-reg Diesel, Owner for Less than a year

Very good for a 4 wheel drive car. Great towcar, very good fuel economy for a 4x4, great in the snow, very reliable, lots of space. Good size boot.
Rear view is not wonderful and a bit difficult to judge where the front wheels are when turning in confined areas.

Cost: 3/5
2005-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Starts first time. smooth drive. fairly quiet. never broken down. Fuel economy is not the best. but, it's to be expected for the vehicle's engine size and transmission. servicing is at 10,000 mile intervals but tends to be reasonably undemanding.

Cost: 3/5
2011-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I have absolutely no reliability issues with the car. I previously had the manual version of the car and easily got 42 mpg. I accepted the lower mpg of the auto version, as I believe I got a good deal on trade-in and the new price of this car.

06-reg Diesel, Owner for Less than a year

This is my sixth CRV 2.2 Diesel, and I find them easy to drive short or long distance. After sales good, servicing a little expensive. But the thing i like about these motors, is how praticial and fuel efficient they are. A good all rounder.

Cost: 4/5
09-reg Diesel, Owner for

An excellent all rounder. the versatility of a 4 x 4 with the comfort and driving characteristics of a saloon. A roomy, comfortable ride is complimented by really good economy (mine averages 45mpg). The build quality is excellent.

2010-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Its a honda almost total reliabilty and superb build quality. This is my third consecutive crv and 4th honda in 12 years . running costs are minimal, service packages great and not expensive. really excellent vfm.

Cost: 5/5
2005-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Poor clutch life; poor sensor life (throttle and others), high tyre wear, doesn't like damp. Bought on assumption of moderate costs. clutch is a fortune; satnav updates ridiculous, all other parts pretty high.

Cost: 2/5
03-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

this is the best car i have owned-it was very cheap to buy as people dont go for petrol CRVs but it has been very cheap to own and performance reliability and practicality are superb

55-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I just wish the car had a bigger petrol tank, I think its too small giving the impression of poor(er) economy

Its the petrol auto and struggles to 30mpg on a longer journey

Cost: 4/5
2011-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

Excellent no issues, mechanically, electronically or with any trim. Usual journey is 4 miles, so fuel economy is not at its optimum- in to the 40's on longer journeys.

I use as a ever day car and too tow a caravan. Which does tow well.
Fuel towing 25 -29 mpg. Solo town work 36-39 mpg. Motorways at 70 44-46 mpg.

It's a honda, always starts and does what is required of it. Not cheap to tax or run. would prefer it to do nearer 40mpg and be lower tax band.
