Black Friday Car Deal of the Day: Chery Tiggo 8 looks destined for fame at £236 a month

The Chery Tiggo 8 is one of the cars of the moment in the UK, and we didn’t think we’d be writing that a year ago. Such is the pace of change in the market right now that a car nobody had heard of at the start of 2025, from a brand that wouldn’t even have registered on most people’s radar, can quickly become an award-winner that’s the centre of attention.
It’s even more appealing courtesy of the £236 per month lease deal being offered by Lease Car UK at the moment via the Auto Express Buy a Car service. It’ll get you into this large family SUV for three years after an initial payment of £3,178. This is a great price for a seven-seat SUV with plug-in hybrid power, especially one that’s just claimed the prestigious 2026 Car of the Year crown from our parent company Carwow.
The mileage limit of 5,000 miles might be a sticking point for some, but if you need more you can go to 8,000 for about £250 per month or 10,000 miles for broadly £262.
The model in question is the entry-level Aspire and that comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic parking camera, wireless phone charging and a powered driver’s seat on top of the basics.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor linked to a 18.3kWh battery, which Chery calls its Super Hybrid system. Officially, you can get 56 miles of electric range on a full charge and the firm claims that a full battery combined with a full fuel tank can take you 745 miles with combined WLTP efficiency of 201mpg. You’ll need to keep the battery topped up to achieve that in the real world, but this has the potential to be a very economical SUV.
