Audi Q3 - best crossovers and small SUVs

The latest Audi Q3 has bags of style, impressive tech and makes for a great all-round SUV.

While the looks may be somewhat derivative, the Q3 is one of Audi’s biggest sellers so the brand playing it safe in the styling department is understandable.

Behind the wheel the Q3 is among the best in the small SUV class to drive. Ride comfort has been much improved in the latest car and while it may not be as fun to drive as a BMW X1, the Q3 offers great refinement and there’s a good range of petrol and diesel engines.

Volvo XC40 vs Audi Q3 vs BMW X1

The Q3’s cabin is typically sophisticated and has an upmarket feel with Audi’s exemplary Virtual Cockpit display and 12.25 inch central infotainment screen contributing to an impressive level of technology.

There’s more room in this Q3 than the old one, in fact, it's 530-litre boot comfortably beats the Volvo XC40's 432 litres and BMW X1's 505 litres. Then again, the Q3 doesn’t come cheap, and the optional extras you’ll want will quickly bump the list price up.
