The top ten best cars for practicality and space
Driver Power asked UK new car buyers about their cars' practicality and boot space. These are the top ten highest rated

- Covering: Flexibility and versatility of seating area, boot and luggage area capacity, availability of interior storage space, child-friendly features
- Winner: Skoda Kodiaq
- Score: 94.87%
It stands to reason that a large SUV would win in a category where physical space is so important, and the highly competent Skoda Kodiaq thoroughly deserves the prize, according to its owners.
Overall boot capacity is crucial in this category and the Kodiaq blows the competition out of the water, with respondents delighted with the vast amount of space they have at their disposal in the cargo bay.
A common gripe among Driver Power respondents is that some cars lack a decent array of cubbyholes, but the Kodiaq doesn’t suffer from this. Instead, you say it’s got a better selection of useful interior storage than any of its rivals.
The Kodiaq also earned a phenomenal score for the versatility of its seating. With most models being seven-seaters, you report that the rear two rows can be easily folded down to create an even larger load bay for transporting bulky items without difficulty. Plus, to round the category off, there’s a decent provision of child-friendly features, such as Isofix points.
Your view
“The boot is a very good size, especially when the rearmost row of seats is folded down; this is something which can be done with ease. There are plenty of storage bins in the cabin, too.”
