Your Quotes

“Good engine, frugal for a big family car, but it can stall when it's not quite warm. It has a huge boot and is reasonably built, although the interior could be better.”

Mr Graham Clay - Hampshire

“I had a problem with a seized caliper and rear suspension alignment.”

Mr Jerry Davies - Tyne & Wear

“I have an estate car which was purchased for practicality. It has done everything which was expected in an efficient manner. It is very comfortable and the load area is adequate. The performance and economy are acceptable. Overall I am pleased with the vehicle.”

Mr Alan Aston - Shropshire

“Great basic car wrecked by poor quality materials and build quality.”

Mr Rod Eley - Kent

“Good value and economic to run.”

Mr John Saunders - Surrey

“I'm very happy with it and would buy exactly the same again.”

Mr Dave Sussman - Oxon

“Very happy with the car - would definitely consider buying another one.”

“Very good apart from a persistent failure of the trip computer that the local agent will not take my word for it that the display fades out when the car gets hot.”

Mr Robert Cuin - Bucks

“The car is excellent - not so sure about the quality of support from the main dealers.”

Greville Percival - London

“The Mondeo is the perfect family car. Big enough for the family, nice enough for me to drive on my own. I just wish the interior didn't wear so quickly.”

Mr Andrew Burrows - Derbyshire

“Great family car which is a joy to drive and is totally reliable.”

Mr Ernest Gill - Surrey

“Reliable if unexciting drive. It gets the job done has plenty of space and is good on long journeys. 2000cc model is recommended for its better acceleration.”

Mr David Pratt - Stockton-on-Tees

“Excellent value for money as an ex fleet car but runs lovely.”

Mr Clive Dixon - Lincoln

“A beautiful car to drive when it drives. Many problems not solved in the quarantee period finally resulting in a major engine blow up.”

Mr Marcel Michorius - Law

“Comfortable, very practical, economical, all I need in a car.”

Mr John Terry - East Yorkshire

“Great family car, loads of leg room (front and back) masses of boot space. Very comfortable.”

Mrs Katie Simons - Ipswich

“Pleasure to own a real workhorse ideal for family and travelling.”

Mr Michael Kemp - Cambs

“An excellent car for long journeys. It just goes on and on.”

Mr Michael Norfolk - Easty Yorkshire

“Great fun to drive, comfortable, effortless-distance cruiser, with ability to transport four adults and all their baggage with no problem. Fuel consumption not perfect, but too much fun to drive conservatively. Servicing by main ford dealer is good value, although consumables such as tyres not cheap. Intending to purchase same model for next car, but probably higher spec.”

Mr William Wetherill - Stockton On Tees

“Reliable, practical but a little boring.”

Mr Keith Pickering - West Midlands

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 20th)

A credible rise of four places has let Ford break into the top 20. Given its position in the sales charts, this is hardly anything to write home about, but at least it is going in the right direction. The firm’'s worst rating comes for the comfort of its cabins. You tell us finding the best driving position is a real pain in the back. But the blue oval has finished a full eight places ahead of arch-rival Vauxhall.
