“I bought into a brand which I believed was untarnished, but the car came with a known head gasket problem in waiting. This cost me more than £800 to fix.”

“Generally very practical but a bit crude in engineering.”

Mr Geoff Downer - Hampshire

“We are dog owners so good and practical. Has had a couple of niggling problems that garage has not sorted out even though charged us £800 odd quid for changing this and that and saying should improve and it didn't. But is my favourite car to date.”

Mrs Samantha Gardner - Somerset

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 27th)

It's current model line-up is proving popular, yet Land Rover'’s problem is that its cars of yesteryear are dragging it down. As more examples of the firm’'s latest Discovery are reported on, the firm’'s position has risen by four places, but the old-shape Disco and previous Freelander are ruining the line-up’'s average rating. However, one thing holding back the whole range is its steep running costs.
