Peugeot has revealed its new Juke-rivalling crossover and confirmed it will go into production

The Peugeot 2008 concept has been unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, alongside the facelifted RCZ coupe and Onyx supercar. And Peugeot has confirmed it will go into production this year before hitting showrooms in June 2013.

The concept was originally unveiled as the HR1 at the Paris Motor Show in 2010 and then as the Urban Crossover Concept at Beijing earlier this year.

A new paintjob marks out the Paris car, which is not likely to change massively when it makes production.

The model aims to take sales from the likes of the Nissan Juke, and Peugeot has confirmed that it will wear the 2008 badge.

It will also be the first model from the company to be fitted with a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo engine. In the 2008 it will be tuned to produce 110bhp, and it is expected to be capable of almost 60mpg.

1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo engine. Petrol? or Diesel?

Big or small: most definitely one of the best looking SUV around. Hope this will sell in large numbers.

The only thing i want from buying a Peugeot is RELIABILITY...
