Ford Focus RS500

Matt black paint, 345bhp and a limited run of 500 units - the most hardcore hot-hatch got even meaner and we were on hand on drive it

Ford Focus RS500

This 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged hatch sends 345bhp to the front wheels, and is the first roadgoing Ford to wear the legendary badge since the Sierra Cosworth. A matt black paintjob makes it more eye-catching than the standard RS, while the handling isn’t corrupted by the extra 45bhp. It’s just a shame only 500 were built – all of which sold out within days!
