Jaguar XF Sportbrake

Jaguar has announced prices and specifications for its new BMW 5 Series Touring and Audi A6 Avant rival. The Jaguar XF Sportbrake will arrive in the UK later this year, starting from £31,940 for the entry-level 161bhp 2.2-litre diesel.

This 2.2-litre diesel will also be offered with 197bhp, which replaces the old 187bhp variant and will be made available with the XF saloon, too. Both versions of the 2.2D manage to return average fuel economy of 55.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 135g/km.

The turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel also comes in two power outputs: 237bhp and 271bhp. The lower-powered version has a 0-62mph time of 6.7 seconds, while the 271bhp version manages it in 6.1 seconds. Both return 46mpg and emit 163g/km of CO2.

All come fitted with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and stop-start as standard.

The company's new 335bhp 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine - which will power the upcoming Jaguar F-Type and replaces the naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 - will join the line-up later. It will propel the XF Sportbrake from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 155mph, while returning 30mpg and 224g/km of CO2.

As with the standard XF, trim levels comprise of SE Business, Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury and Portfolio.

Jaguar is also introducing an XFR Speed Pack for the saloon version. It produces 503bhp and has a top speed of 174mph, while visual changes include a new front splitter and rear wing.

A new, optional Meridian premium sound system replaces the Bowers & Wilkins system from the outgoing car. Available with 380W or 825W outputs – both feature multiple channel amplifiers and Digital Signal Processing software.
