RAC 05

RAC 05
Overall Auto Express rating

3.0

Best price: £149.99
Type: Suction mount
Contact: www.racshop.co.uk

The RAC 05 offers great recording quality, but field of view is only 130 degrees, which could cut out vital images. It includes an 8GB memory card, automatically switches on and boasts forward collision alert and lane departure warning. However, these are inconsistent, depending, for example, on how strong the white lines are on the road. They can also be disabled, like on the Transcend. The 05 doesn’t cope well with glare. It’s not as bad as some kits here, and playback is easy, but you can get better for less cash elsewhere.
