Smart ForTwo six-speed twinamic
The Renault Twingo-based Smart ForTwo is a much more grown-up proposition than its predecessors, and the twinamic dual clutch gearbox option makes it better still.

With its engine at the back there's room for masses of steering lock, making the ForTwo incredibly manoeuvrable around town. There's a pair of super-frugal three-cylinder engines, and economy, refinement and ease of driving are all much improved when they're mated to the twinamic auto box.
With Comfort and Dynamic settings to choose from depending on your mood, the super-quick and super-slick shift is a massive improvement over the old robotised automatic gearbox in the previous generation ForTwo - widely criticised as the vehicle's bug-bear. You can even have the twinamic box with paddle-shifts on the new one, and we reckon it's money well spent.
