“We won’t tell you that A-Z is the clearest mapping,” says the cover. “You decide.” It’s an easy decision for us. The colours are light and the text clear, and that makes up for the slightly smaller 3.5mpi scale than on the A4 AA atlas. Junctions are detailed, and you get speed camera and petrol station locations, plus flaps to bookmark pages. Paper quality is excellent, as are the town guides.
