No nonsense seems to be Makita’s mantra here. Cleaning performance is right on the tails of the best in the group, which is surprising when you consider the decidedly average-sounding specs: 110 Bar maximum pressure, 1,700W motor and 370 litres per hour max flow rate. Better still, the HW111 is a nice piece of kit to use.

Its squat design means you’ll never topple it when dragging the hose off the reel. And there’s a top-quality hose that won’t kink unless seriously ill treated. Our only gripe is that it’s a bit short on accessories; we feel Makita could have included a bit more kit at this price level.
