Renaultsport Megane Trophy

Incredible Renaultsport racer features mid-mounted V6 and gullwing doors

The Renaultsport Megane 250 won't be with us until the Autumn, but an even more hardcore variant has already arrived! We were one of the first to get behind the wheel of the Renaultsport Megane Trophy, and if its stunning dynamics, riotous exhaust note and pin-up looks are anything to go by the roadcar on which it's based is shaping up to be something special.

Unlike the roadcar's four-cylinder unit, the racer uses a mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 borrowed from the Nissan 350Z. And with 360bhp chanelled through a six-speed gearbox to the rear wheels, performance is ballistic. The European Megane Trophy race series will provide the stage for this mean Megane to strut its stuff, but you'll have to fork out £126,000 - £100,000 more than the road version - to get your hands on one.
