We criticised GoCompare in our last test for lacking data fields that could help drive down our premium. This has all changed now and the detail filling section is one of the best around – if a little long-winded. The clear interface is helped by explanation notes down the side of the page, and the car details auto-filled when we entered the registration. Last time we ran this test, prices quoted by GoCompare were higher than from rivals, but this has been rectified, too, with the largest selection of low-end quotes on test. Policy info is clearly displayed, as is a breakdown of voluntary and compulsory excess.
