Liquid polish mini test

We test the new liquid polish from Bullet against our current favourites

Polishes are great at adding shine to your car’s paintwork, and some of the latest also claim to protect like a wax. Liquid polishes are easy to apply, and Bullet has launched its new Hi Shine in the UK. We tried it against our current favourite liquid versions: Halfords Car Polish and Armor All Shield.

We divided up a scrapyard panel and applied each polish by hand, rating them for ease of use, then comparing the shine added. To check beading, we misted on water – we did this for four weeks to compare performance. Value for money was our final factor.

Halfords Car Polish was the top liquid polish in our last test, and is still our favourite. While it trailed at the start, it added a good shine and beaded water quickly at the end of our test. It’s cheap, too, although you don’t get any applicator cloths. Bullet Hi Shine is a good choice – it was still beading at the end and is well priced. Armor All Shield beats it for value, but all three are great buys.
