Approved used Subarus need to be very specific in their condition before the brand allows them to be sold through its Proven programme; the website contains detailed information about how the bodywork, interior, paintwork and trim must be presented before a car is considered to be good enough. The same goes for the wheels and tyres, glass and all of the mechanicals.
To be eligible for the Subaru Proven scheme in the first place, cars must be under seven years old with less than 80,000 miles racked up. There are checks to prove the mileage is genuine and that there’s no outstanding finance; if anything should go wrong, there’s a 30-day or 1,000-mile exchange policy.
Although the scheme covers cars up to seven years old and with 80,000 miles on the clock, for added peace of mind every model sold through Subaru Proven comes with 12 months’ breakdown cover.
