An odd-looking and lightweight device, the Maypole is suitable for any hitch with a standard 50mm coupling, but can’t be used when attached to the car. It’s easy to ratchet into the lock over the top of the hitch, and the case-hardened steel bar resisted quiet attack, although it was beaten quickly once a little noisy force was applied.
