New Cafe Racer version of the DS 3 features graphics designed by Bordeaux-based BMD, and is limited to just 150 examples in the UK

DS has opened the order books on a limited edition ‘Cafe Racer’ version of the DS 3 supermini. Just 150 examples are set to arrive in the UK with prices starting at £21,305 and rising to £22,825, with bespoke graphics helping it stand out from the crowd. DS also offers a ladies scarf and a pocket handkerchief for men (in the colours of the roof no less) to make owners “feel special”.

The Cafe Racer graphic, which has been designed by Bordeaux-based BMD Design, appears on the roof, along with satellite versions on the b-pillars and boot. There is also a new bonnet badge and exclusive 17-inch Bellone black alloy wheels with cream inserts.

The French manufacturer is offering the exclusive DS in four colour combinations: Ink Blue, Perla Nera Black, Platinum Grey and Ruby Red. All models though, will have a Parthenon Cream roof.

The Cafe Racer edition comes with a choice of two petrol PureTech engines: the 110 (108bhp) and the more powerful 130 (128bhp). Both are offered with a manual, however, owners after an automatic will have to settle for the 110.

Inside, the dashboard is painted in the same cream hue with the Cafe Racer graphic featuring also. The seats are trimmed in Trinitario Brown Nappa (previously seen on the DS 3 ‘DS World Paris’ edition) which links to the hues seen on cafe racer motorbikes.

The tech specs are similar to the slightly more affordable Prestige model, meaning motorists are treated to automatic air conditioning, parking sensors, automatic wipers and a 7-inch infotainment screen that is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink.
