Peugeot Approved Plus/Approved Standard used car scheme

There are two levels of Peugeot used cover: Approved Plus and Approved Standard. Confusingly, the former is the standard policy, while the latter offers higher-mileage cars with reduced benefits – although neither scheme covers as much as rivals’. All models are put through a “comprehensive safety check”, and while Peugeot doesn’t specify what this includes, mileage, theft, history and crash checks are in there.

Peugeot Approved Plus is for cars less than five years old with under 50,000 miles; Approved Standard goes up to eight years/80,000 miles. Plus cars come with the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty (at least 12 months) and there’s a 30-day exchange policy. Standard cars get just a six-month guarantee, although this can be extended to 12 months at extra cost. There’s also no exchange policy for these models. If you want breakdown cover on either scheme, it costs extra.
